TCI has recently been awarded its 8(a) certification.
TCI is actively participating in the Smart Grid Interoperability Standard and is interested in partnerships related to this area. In addition, TCI is also available for teaming and collaborations related to the Broadband Infrastruture Project (BIP) and the Broadband Technology Oppportunity (BTOP) that is part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009.
In 2009, TCI developed Espre, a patent-pending novel network and communications design software application and development environment that will greatly shorten software programming project cycle time, generate cost savings and higher quality code.
The Espre package provides the capability to create, model, simulate, and instantiate a wide variety of existing and new communication systems and networks using an advanced, fully featured and robust tool environment with a rich, easy to use interface.

Because TCI Founder and President, Dr. John Terry currently holds 8 U.S. patents relating to wireless technologies with 17 other domestic and international that are pending. Further, Dr. Terry helped set the standard while serving as Vice-Chair of IEEE 802.11g task group and as a contributing member to the WiMedia 1.0 Physical Layer (PHY) specifications for its Ultrawideband (UWB) standard.
Dr. Terry, former Principal Scientist at Nokia Research Center in Dallas, managed the OFDM Modulation and Coding project in Wireless Data Group. He also led team of system and ASIC engineers in the development of an UWB product based on the multi-band OFDM technology while at WiQuest Communications, Inc.
Dr. Terry’s research interests include array processing, space-time coding, UWB technology, Cognitive Radio, MANETs, Software Defined Radio, Dynamic Spectrum Access, WLAN technology, diversity techniques, and error correction coding.
